Following its launch, complete with tote bags, sweet treats and plenty of curiosity at the LCRIG’s Strictly Highways, we’re delighted to officially introduce the newest addition to the Miles Macadam portfolio: Milepave Ultra™.
While some of our clients may already be familiar with the material from previous schemes, the overwhelmingly positive feedback and growing demand made one thing clear – it was time for an official launch. And what better place to do it than at one of our favourite events in the highways calendar?
Milepave Ultra™ is a high-performance grouted macadam surfacing solution designed to deliver exceptional durability, flexibility and long-term value across a wide range of highway applications. Whether it’s a heavily trafficked junction, a busy roundabout or a rural road lined with trees, Milepave Ultra™ has been developed to stand up to the challenges that today’s road networks face. At the heart of the system is a polymer-modified bitumen asphalt surface course which is reinforced using a specially formulated asphaltic grout. This process helps create a stronger, more resilient surface by sealing joints, reducing aggregate loss and enhancing flexibility. The result is a durable pavement designed to withstand the stresses of everyday traffic while helping to reduce the need for future maintenance. For highway authorities, that means longer-lasting roads, fewer interventions and improved whole-life performance.
Milepave Ultra™ is also designed with sustainability in mind. Through reduced material usage, lower mixing temperatures and enhanced long-term durability compared with traditional asphalt solutions, it can help lower whole-life carbon emissions while continuing to deliver the performance expected from a high-performance surfacing material.
The product is fully BBA/HAPAS certified (Certificate No. 06/H120), giving clients confidence that the system has been independently assessed and approved for use on UK highways.
