We’re delighted to have recently received fantastic feedback from residents following resurfacing works carried out by our teams.
While we take great pride in the quality and standard of the roads we deliver, the feedback has highlighted something equally important: the professionalism, courtesy and community-minded attitude of the people carrying out the work. From working through challenging summer temperatures to keeping sites clean and safe, our teams have received praise from residents for the way they approached the work from beginning to end.
“A brilliant job”
One resident from Wiltshire stopped a member of the council in town to share her appreciation for the work and our Miles Macadam team. The behaviour of the gang was also singled out for praise, with one resident commenting on how clean and considerate they were throughout the works. She noted that there were no blaring radios or bad language, and that the team took the time to interact with her grandchild, who was fascinated by watching the resurfacing operation. Having spoken to several members of the team during the works – and even offering them cups of tea – she was “absolutely over the moon” with the finished result.
Going the extra mile
Paul and the rest of the team were also praised for their hard work, particularly during the exceptionally hot weather. Residents described the team as “extremely professional”, highlighting their exceptional workmanship, efficiency and ability to maintain a clean and safe working environment while allowing people to continue with their day-to-day lives. After years of potholes, one resident said they were particularly grateful to finally have roads resurfaced to such a high standard. The finished surface itself also received praise, with one resident describing the road as smooth and safe to drive on, with no mess or damage left behind. But it wasn’t just the quality of the work that stood out. One particularly memorable piece of feedback came from a resident who, along with her mother, was struggling to carry a heavy, six-metre-long roll of artificial grass up a hill. Before they could even ask for assistance, members of the resurfacing team came over and offered to carry it for them and take it to their back garden.
That simple gesture made a real impression and was described as a great example of the team’s helpful and positive attitude towards residents.
“It’s the talk of the village”
The response from the local community was perhaps summed up best by one resident, who told us:
“We just wanted to say what a superb job your team have done for us. Not only that but all the guys were so kind and considerate whilst doing the work. It’s the talk of the village and everyone is delighted with the result.”
As the team prepared to finish the works, further praise followed, with residents commending their efficiency, politeness and the quality of the work.
A huge well done to the team
Road resurfacing is inevitably disruptive. We understand that residents have to navigate temporary closures, changing access arrangements, loud construction activity and the general inconvenience that comes with improving their local road network.
That’s why feedback like this means so much. It demonstrates that the job is about more than simply laying a new road. It’s about how we work, how we treat people and the impression we leave behind. We’d like to say a huge well done to both our resurfacing gangs for their hard work, professionalism and commitment – particularly while working in challenging hot weather. And, most importantly, thank you to all the residents who took the time to contact us and share their experiences.
We’re incredibly proud to hear that our teams are delivering not only high-quality resurfacing, but also a positive experience for the communities they work in.
