As part of our continued commitment to environmental responsibility, we’re proud to announce that Miles Macadam has successfully completed SmartCarbon’s Advanced Carbon Footprint Reporting (GHG Accounting) course, accredited by IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment).

This marks an important milestone in our journey toward Net Zero, earning us “Step 1 – Qualified” status in SmartCarbon’s carbon reduction programme. This recognition confirms that we now have multiple trained and competent team members certified in greenhouse gas accounting and carbon management, placing us in a strong position to lead climate action within our sector.

The course provided an in-depth foundation in:

  • Climate science and risk adaptation
  • Carbon compliance, including SECR
  • Sustainable procurement and supply chains
  • Setting science-based Net Zero targets (SBTis)
  • Developing Carbon Reduction Plans aligned with PPN 06/21

We’re now even better equipped to measure and manage our Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions – in full alignment with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.

Accurate measurement is essential for meaningful progress. This training ensures we’re using the most robust and current methods to assess and reduce our environmental impact. This achievement is just one step in our broader mission: to deliver sustainable infrastructure while actively reducing our carbon footprint.

We look forward to sharing more updates as we continue progressing on our path to Net Zero.
