It’s an exciting day for Miles Macadam as it marks the first day of our carbon neutral surfacing scheme with Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council. This will be our third year working with BCP Council and second delivering a carbon neutral scheme. The Miles Macadam team will be completing a mixture of Hardipave™ and Milepave™ schemes across the BCP area, including Bournemouth Train Station, Mannings Heath and Turbary Park Avenue. These carriageways have various levels of deterioration with most schemes predominantly susceptible to high stresses. The Council have pledged to make BCP Council and its operations carbon neutral by 2030, and to work with the wider community to look at how early the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole region can be made carbon neutral, ahead of the UK target of 2050. They have taken several steps towards their goals so far, with achievements in bus and EV infrastructure as well as investments in green electricity. It is a pleasure to be facilitating BCP Council’s commitment to climate change – and for the second year running!
