We were delighted to see Miles Macadam’s projects featured in the September 2025 edition of Renew Magazine, which appeared in Highways Magazine. The article focused on the innovative use of grouted macadams as a highly effective surfacing solution for roundabouts and other high-stress areas, highlighting both their durability and joint-free construction.
Several of our schemes were showcased as prime examples of how cementitious grouted macadam can perform under challenging conditions. One standout example was the Woolbridge Roundabout in Dorset, a site that regularly accommodates heavy traffic. Despite the intense and continuous stress, the surfacing has maintained excellent performance, demonstrating the resilience and long-term benefits of our materials.
The feature also emphasised the broader advantages of grouted macadam, including reduced maintenance requirements and enhanced safety due to its smooth, joint-free surface. By eliminating traditional joints, the material minimises the risk of structural weaknesses and offers a more reliable solution for high-traffic areas.
It’s always rewarding to see the work we do recognised by the industry. We are proud that the RSTA has highlighted our innovative surfacing solutions, helping to promote more sustainable and durable approaches to road construction and maintenance.
